iFunia YouTube Downloader for Mac User Guide

iFunia YouTube Downloader for Mac lets you download videos, playlists, audio, and available subtitles from YouTube and 1,000+ supported websites. You can save online videos in different formats and resolutions, including high-quality 4K and 8K videos, and batch download multiple files at once.

This guide explains how to install and activate iFunia YouTube Downloader, download videos and audio, save subtitles, and keep the app up to date.

Download & Install

1. Download iFunia YouTube Downloader

Download the latest installation package of iFunia YouTube Downloader for Mac.

Free Download macOS 10.15 or later

2. Install the App

• Double-click the downloaded .dmg file.
• Drag iFunia YouTube Downloader to the Applications folder.
• Open the app from Applications or Launchpad.

Activation

After installing iFunia YouTube Downloader, activate the app with your license code to access the full version.

1. Open iFunia YouTube Downloader.
2. Click the key icon in the upper-right corner.
3. Enter or paste your license code into the activation window.
4. Click Activate.

 

Download Videos

Step 1 Copy the video URL

Open the website containing the video you want to download and copy its URL from your browser's address bar.

You can copy the URL of an individual video or a playlist.

 

Step 2 Paste the URL

Paste the URL into the address field in iFunia YouTube Downloader.

Press Enter or click the Download/Analyze button  next to the address field.

iFunia will analyze the URL and display the available video and audio options.

Download Multiple URLs

To download multiple videos at once:

1. Click  or .
2. Paste the video URLs into the input box.
3. Enter one URL per line.
4. Press Option + Enter to start a new line if necessary.
5. Click OK to add the URLs.

You can also paste a playlist URL to download multiple videos from the playlist.

Step 3 Choose the Format and Quality

After the URL is analyzed, select the video format and quality you want to download.

The available formats, resolutions, and quality options depend on the source video.

iFunia automatically selects a suitable option by default. You can click the format or quality menu to choose another available option.

Mac playback tip: If you plan to play the downloaded video with Apple software and encounter compatibility issues with MP4 files using the AV1 codec (av01), choose an MP4 option using the H.264/AVC codec (avc1) instead.

 

Step 4 Download the YouTube videos

Click "Save to" to select a location to save the downloaded videos and click  to start downloading all the video files with a click. You can also click  after a specific video file to download this video only. 

When the download completes, you can directly click  after a video file to fast locate this video file.

 

Download Music/Audio

You can download audio from supported online videos and save it as an audio-only file.

Step 1 Copy the Video URL

Open the webpage containing the video and copy its URL.

 

Step 2 Paste the URL

Paste the URL into the address field and press Enter or click the Download/Analyze button .

You can also click  or to add multiple URLs.

 

Step 3 Select an Audio Format

After the video has been analyzed, choose an audio-only format from the available options.

Depending on the source video, you may see formats such as:

• MP3 – Best for music playback and compatibility with most devices.

• M4A – Preserves the original audio quality when available.

• WebM Audio – Suitable for users who prefer the original web audio format.

Choose the audio quality or bitrate that best fits your needs, if multiple options are available.

 

Step 4 Choose an Output Folder

Browse to select where you want to save the downloaded audio file.

 

Step 5 Start Downloading

Click to begin extracting and saving the audio. Once the download is complete, click to locate the file on your computer.

 

 Download Subtitle

iFunia YouTube Downloader can download available subtitles from supported videos as separate subtitle files.

Subtitle availability depends on the original video. If a video does not provide subtitles, no subtitle options will be displayed.

Step 1 Copy the Video URL

Open the video containing the subtitles you want to save and copy its URL.

 

Step 2 Paste the URL

Paste the URL into the address field and press Enter or click the Download/Analyze button .

iFunia will analyze the video and display the available download options.

 

Step 3 Select the Subtitle Language and Format

After the analysis is complete, you can select subtitle language and format with the Subtitle section.

If multiple subtitle tracks are available, choose your preferred language. Select the subtitle format supported by the software. Common subtitle formats include:

SRT (.srt) – The most widely supported subtitle format for media players and video editing software.

VTT (.vtt) – Commonly used for web video playback and HTML5 videos.

Step 4 Download the Subtitle File

Choose an output folder if needed, then click Once the download is complete, open the destination folder to access the downloaded video file and subtitle file.

 

Update iFunia YouTube Downloader

We always suggest users to use the latest version of the program.

When you launch iFunia YouTube Downloader for Mac, iFunia will auto check for updates and prompts you to download the latest version package.

Also, you can click iFunia YouTube Downloader > Check for Updates... on the top menu bar to manually check for updates.
