"I want to make a movie in iDVD but I can't use any of my mpg's in my movies folder. I go to media and then movies, but the mpg's don't show up. They play fine in QuickTime, and the iDVD help files indicate that iDVD can use any QuickTime video file. Is this just a flaw or the way it is with iDVD? Is .mpg not supported?"
According to Apple official website and iDVD help files iDVD does works with MPEG-1 SD, MPEG-2 SD. However, if your MPEG files are not SD, or they are muxed (multiplexed) MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 video, iDVD will refuse to import. Importing a MPG/MPEG video to iDVD, we need a third-part software to convert MPG/MPEG video to iDVD MP4 (MPEG-4) on Mac OS X.
