Macworld UK reviews iFunia Video Converter Pro

Macworld UK has reviewd our iFunia Video Converter Pro. In short, they thought it’s straightforwardness and easy to use, with a phenomenal range of input&output filetypes. But a MPEG2 output problem caused in their testing. Actually,this bug has been fixed already, while their editors test based on the old version. Overall,they gave 4 star to this program. Good enough! 18% of Macs using Snow Leopard in one month

More than a sixth of all Macs are already running Mac OS X Snow Leopard in just over a month of use, new findings from NetApplications show. On September 29th, the one month anniversary of the release, about 18 percent of all Macs tracked by the stats firm were using some version of Snow Leopard, or 0.91 percent of all computers. The reason why Mac users convert DVD to AVI

As we know, a consumer video format used to store digital video on DVD discs called DVD-Video is currently the dominant consumer video format in some regions. DVD video offers high video/audio quality for users, but with a lot of restrictions. First, it requires a DVD drive and a MPEG2 decoder. Second, each DVD-Video disc contains one or more region codes, denoting the area(s) of the world in which distribution and playback are intended. The commercial DVD player specification dictates that a player must only play discs that contain its region code. Third, it is not as convenient as many videos could be directly stored in Mac computer.

AVI, which stands for Audio Video Interleave, is a container format used by Microsoft’s Video for Windows multimedia framework. It is supported in Windows and even some standalone DVD players, and still suitable for certain formats like DV. Since it was developed for Windows 3.1 in 1992, it does lack some features found in newer containers like MPEG or MP4, Whatever, it is widely used by consumers.

So, there comes a solution, convert DVD to AVI on Mac. With this solution, users could enjoy DVD videos as AVI video format. That means, Mac users could backup DVDs into their computer and could watch them at anytime very conveniently. If there is a good Mac DVD to AVI converter, the video/audio quality will be almost the same as the original DVD.
