To install it, simply mount the .dmg archive by double-clicking it, and copy the application to your applications folder (or wherever you want).


Step 1: Import DVD/video files

Simply drag and drop DVD or video files to the program. Or go to "File" menu, choose "Add DVD" or "Add Files" and navigate to the files you want to add. And the software has a feature of previewing and playing your inputted video files. Simply select a file which you want to preview in the source file area and click Play button. You can also take snapshot at will to store the image you like.

 

Tip 1: Before converting, you can merge the videos as one by click on the video titles you'd like to merge to 1 single file, then click 'Merge' button and uncheck the former separate files if you just need the single merged video file.


Tip 2: Select subtitle and audio track

Regular DVD movies usually have several subtitles such as English, French, German, etc. You can select the subtitle and audio track for your DVD video as you like. You can also selecting audio in the same way. Here you can also set the video&audio qualities of the output files.


Step 2: Choose a format from the output format list

Select the output format from the"Output Fortmat" drop down list. The formats have been catalogued as Apple Devices, Apple Software, Game Console, Mobile Phone, Tablet, Portable Video Player, YouTube and so on for videos. You just need to choose the right device format for your videos, or you can choose from "General Video". Also, there are various formats for audio files, such as MP3, WMA, AIFF, etc.

Tips: If you don't know much about video formats, you can select a format according to the name of your portable player. For example, you can select "iPad MPEG-4 Video(*.mp4)" when you want to convert medias for iPad, and the default setting works great. You can also change the output settings as you need. Remember that the output file size mostly depends on the Bitrate you set. Larger Bitrate, larger file size.


Step 3: Start DVD and Video Conversion on Mac

After the above steps, click "Start" to start conversion. There are also two other function buttons there: "Pause" and "Stop", which also control the conversion respectively.

 

Edit video/audio files (optional)

If you want to edit your video/audio files, just highlight the video you want to edit and clicking the "Edit" image button, then you can do trimming, cropping, deinterlacing adjustment and adding watermark or special features to your files.


1. Trim video and audio files

Sometimes, you may want only part of the video file. To do this you can activate the Edit Window and then click "Play" to play the selected file, after that you can move the right and the left markers of the seek slider to choose a specific part of the video to be converted.

 

2. Crop videos

Here you are allowed to crop video to remove the black edges around your movie video, so you can watch your movies on your portable players in full screen. Simply draw the frame to select the area you want to retain, or move the sliders to adjust the position of the frame. And you can select the zoom as 16:9, 4:3 or Keep Original to set the aspect ratio of output video.

 

3. Adjust effect of the output video

To make your videos look more special, you can always utilize the "Effect" feature. You may also change Brightness, Contrast and add more effects to your videos.

 

4. Add watermark on output video

In "Watermark" tab, click "Enable Watermark" to active the watermark feature, here you can add text or picture watermark to the videos. Select a watermark and set the position and transparency degree for added watermark.

 

5. Deinterlacing an interlaced video

In some cases, videos may have that interlace effects and to avoid mosaic in interlaced videos, you can use the deinterlace function in the "deinterlace' tab.
