Convert video to iPhone on Mac

Discover how to convert any video(including HD) to iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS on Mac

Recently I have been asked often how to watch videos on iPhone 3G and iPhone 3G S. Most people that own an iPhone 3G know they can enjoy videos on their iPhones 3G but they don't know how to exactly. To watch the videos on your iPhone 3G or iPhone 3GS, you need to convert the videos to the iPhone supported formats like MPEG-4(MP4 for short). Here are the easy steps.

Things You'll Need

Step 1 Download iPhone Video Converter for Mac

We’ll be using a very nice video converting tool for Mac OS called iFunia iPhone Video Converter ( Mac OS only ) for converting video to iPhone compatible video/audio formats, head over here and download the free trial version.

Step 2 Source Setup

Run the program and click "Add Files" button to select and open the video file you wish to convert. iFunia iPhone Video Converter supports most of the popular video formats, so you can easily convert AVI to iPhone, MKV to iPhone, and even HD video formats like AVCHD M2TS MTS to iPhone format.

Step 3 Destination Setup

After you finish video source setup, you can select your preferred iPhone preset. In the left-hand section of the iPhone video converter interface, select an output format for each video file and specify a directory on your computer to save the output files.

Here I set the output video format to 'iPhone MPEG-4(640*480) Video (*.mp4)', Video Codec as 'H.264', Resolution as '640*480', Bitrate as '1200', Frame Rate as '25', Audio Codec as 'AAC' by default. Remember that the output file size mostly depends on the Bitrate you set. Larger Bitrate, larger file size.

Step 4 Start Conversion

Finally, click "Start" button. That's right, it just takes a click to convert avi to iPhone, mp4 to iPhone or any other kind of popular video to iPhone using iFunia iPhone Video Converter.

Step 5 Transfer/Sync video to the iPhone

Minimize the iPhone video converter's window. Then attach your iPhone to the computer and sync it with iTunes. If you're connecting your iPhone for the first time, you'll need to name it, and choose how you'd like to manage your music and video. Check the option "Automatically sync songs and videos to my iPhone" so your music and video from the iTunes library will automatically snyc to your iPhone. The sync may take a few minutes. When syncing is done, eject your iPhone and take your movies with you. To play the newly converted movie on your iPhone, click iPhone Main Menu > Videos and then choose Movies. Read the detailed guide from here.
