  2. RoC1909 says:

when I watched portions of the 2008 Olympics on NBC. Every 3-4 minutes, they would have a three minute break for commercials. Absolutely horrendous! I will never watch another Olympics again.

  3. TechnoRanger says:

YouTube is doing a good job in the broadcasting area. First they made some 3D videos available on their site, now they will broadcast Olympic games for free in Asia and Africa. Though airing shows on video sites is not something new. People in Asia and Africa wih LG 3D TVs can take advantage if ever YouTube and Olympic committee decide to broadcast free 3D Olympic games. YouTube is pre-installed in LG Smart TV.

  4. OrangeMlTeam says:

NBC has always seemed more concerned with presenting the “story” than the event. When I watch an event I want to see all the competitors, not just the two or three Americans taking their turn followed by a feel-good piece about a competitor’s mother or child. I get enough drama from the sport.

  5. Claborn says:

Doesn’t like as exciting as last time, too much coverage.

Will you be forced to be logged in to a Google+ account to view it free?

  7. LisaBlansett says:

Does anyone know where to find a video of the WHOLE opening ceremony online (besides through NBC and its affiliates)? I had trouble getting the whole livestream (kept freezing and such), so I’d like to see it.

  8. JunkMail123 says:

I have been waiting for such a long time for this!!! Thanks for the update and looking forward for more articles like this. =)

  9. Kota Forde says:

I don’t understand how the Olympics is supposed to be an international event and yet there are all these limitations and restrictions to viewing it, not only online, but on cable was well. I have NBC but because I do not live in the U.S. my feed is blocked. The local channel isn’t showing any of the events I want to see and none of the official Olympic YouTube channels would let me watch it as a live stream…

  10. ChesapeakePirate says:

I’m not real happy with NBC on this, so — as soon as the Olympics are over — I’ll go back to the cable shows.

  11. SkreetGil1 says:

It was a really bad decision to not have it online.
    NBC coverage was terrible.

  12. Mckern says:

Great article, I enjoyed reading it.
