Schematic of the rumored next generation iPhone with a 4-inch screen appears to have been leaked to various blogs like iLab and Cydia Blog. The schematic does not show an exact total height for the part in question, but calculations based on pixel counts and the known height of the display mask area suggest that the overall height of the part is roughly 122 mm, approximately 7 mm taller than the overall height of the iPhone 4S.

Pictures claiming to show the back panel of an unreleased iPhone suggest Apple’s next-generation handset could feature an aluminum back, a new, smaller dock connector, and a relocated headphone jack. The significant redesign also features a much smaller dock connector on the bottom of the device. It also shows a headphone jack that has been relocated to the bottom of the handset.

However, the purported next-generation iPhone component also features a suspicious font used to display the “iPhone” product name on the rear panel, suggesting the component could be an elaborate counterfeit.

9To5Mac reports that iFixyouri, an online iPhone repair company based out of Florida, received a next generation iPhone part from its Chinese suppliers. This isn’t a small component that has little bearing on the iPhone’s design, like the home button or the front camera featured previously. The part in question is allegedly the back panel of the next iPhone, which includes the side panels, an opening for a dock connector, and larger speaker grills.

According to 9to5Mac, at Apple HQ, testing is taking place on a couple of prototype handsets, one of which will probably become the next Apple iPhone 5. The prototypes are disguised by being put in thick black shells which are designed to hide the true identity of the phone inside. Two of the models being tested have larger screens than the current 3.5 inches that used to be considered generously sized when the first Apple iPhone was launched in 2007. The two Apple iPhone prototypes with the larger screen are internally called the iPhone 5.1 and the iPhone 5.2.

The iPhone 4 has a glass plate on the front screen as well as on the phone’s back end, giinvg it it’s shiny appearance. What I can tell you from experience is that the glass is most definitely stronger. I keep my iPhone 4 in a case (as should you), but I have dropped it on occasion with and without the case. I have yet to drop it on an extremely hard surface like a parking lot or hardwood floor, just mainly at work or at my apartment where it’s carpeted. It has yet to even crack. I’ve had it about six months. It’s a beautiful phone.

iphone5 looks like an oversized iphone4s. The design hasn’t changed, just SLIGHTLY larger. Fail. ipad mini? Jobs is climbing out of he-ll on that rumor after he swore that a smaller tablet is useless.
